Play

Do you remember how to play? Are you willing to take time to play? One of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves is to allow ourselves time to play. In the busy world we live in many of us forget how to play. We all take life so seriously & we all work much to hard. Don't get me wrong, a good work ethic is very important but remembering how to have fun & play is just as important & too often overlooked.

Having a child's view of the world is one of the best ways to find joy in your life & live in the present moment. Watch children at play, they don't worry about what's next they just enjoy what they're doing in the present moment. They can become so engrossed in what their doing that time appears to stand still. Hours can pass & to them it feels like moments. I'm sure we've all had moments in our life when we enjoyed what we were doing so much that time wasn't important or seemed to pass with ease. This is the feeling we all need to strive for. To be so caught up in the current moment that nothing else matters.

By remembering how to play we can rediscover this true connection with our spirit, our joy. Stop taking life so seriously. Learn to let go & have fun. Remember what it was like to be a child & to play!! Look at the world as a child. See everything in your life like it's the first time again. Open your mind to the beauty around you & play!.

Till tomorrow,

Bill

Quote of the day:"Rediscover the joy of playing. See the world with the eyes of a child & allow each moment to be the first time!"

@ Bill

Indeed, we need to be connected with the nature to have that child spirit in self. Perhaps the Nature Mother is humble enough hold and teach us the basic elements of life:)

~ Lets cheers the life and green world...perhaps pick up the bicycle and take a ride around our homes...it makes a far most difference in an easy way to reconnect with the nature and also to reduce some extra pounds.

Bwt. A love post to revoke child in me!
And thanks a bunch for the lovely comment you made in mom and ME post:)

Keep the Spark ALive..

As I watched my niece lie on the ground and just roll yesterday, I realized how far we have come as adults from the simple pleasures of just "beiing playful". There is a time and place for seriousness... Thanks for the reminder!

Ahh.. how is it that we are thinking alike today? I'm in the middle of writing and then rewriting my next post and it's down these same lines!

Bring on the playdough and Legos. :)

Yes, I love to play! My husband and I get our two year old grandson every Saturday, just so we can play with him. We are a family that plays together too, we love board games, card games, acting out games, even video games!
Humor is also a major coping mechanism in our family, and laughter is our balm.

Rachana thanks for your lovely comment. I love to ride my bike when the weather is nice & may be able to begin again soon & of course I love the outdoors!

Tony, there's always time for everything & we all need to be serious on occasion. I just believe too many of us are too serious all the time!!

Marty, not sure why we've done this a few times since we've known each other. I look forward to reading your blog.

Aine, no grandkids for us yet (although my eldest daughter was married over the summer so who knows =D) But I've always loved to play & have fun. I believe in laughter too!! I know it's importance in anyone's life & I'd be lost without it in mine.

Thanks everyone....hugs,

Bill

Living with 2 kids at home, I surely know how to play and you are right, this is a thing that keeps our life balanced. Helps us feel free from all obligations and makes us smile. And we smile so rare, so it is precious.
